Course Overview
These units of competency involve the skills and knowledge required to participate and make decisions required to construct and install water distribution assets and maintain and repair network assets for drinking water.
They include constructing and installing assets, pipes and associated fittings, confirming work quality, finalising work conducting and maintenance and repairs on a variety of water distribution assets including storages, pumping stations, dosing stations and pipelines. It also includes reviewing, reporting and recording work.
These units apply to those working as field and operational staff with responsibility for ensuring water distribution assets are constructed and installed in a safe and timely manner. Those undertaking these units would work under appropriate supervision either independently or in a team using own familiar resources as required, while performing routine tasks in a range of familiar contexts, ensuring minimum damage to the environment.

NWPNET061 & NWPNET049 Combined Face-to-Face Training Session
This half-day face-to-face session, running from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, covers the essential skills and knowledge required to construct, install, maintain, and repair water distribution assets. The practical assessment and performance evidence are collected through infield performance and workplace evidence reports. These units of competency focus on participating in decision-making for the construction and installation of water distribution assets (NWPNET061) and maintaining and repairing network assets for drinking water (NWPNET049), ensuring practical, hands-on learning directly applicable to industry requirements.
Prerequisites
NWPNET064 - Control Electrical Risk on Network Pipes.
You will need:
- Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- 100 points ID (e.g. Passport & drivers licence 0R Birth Certificate & drivers licence -check web for combinations OR check online for other options). One must be a photo ID.
Certification
Upon satisfactory completion of knowledge and workplace practical assessments, participants will be issued a Statement of Attainment for the units of competency NWPNET061 - Maintain and Repair Network Assets for Drinking Water and NWPNET049 - Construct and Install Water Distribution Assets.

Course Duration
6 hours face to face - Performance and skills are assessed through the collection of evidence, including infield performance and workplace evidence reports. Students have up to 3 months to submit their workplace evidence reports, with extensions available if required.
