Assessment Methods

Practical Demonstration: Participants will perform the correct use of breathing apparatus in controlled scenarios.
Theory Test: A written assessment covering essential safety knowledge, equipment usage, and hazard management.

Prerequisites

Participants must be physically capable of wearing and operating a breathing apparatus.

It is recommended that participants have prior training in confined space entry or hazardous environments (e.g., RIIWHS202E – Enter and Work in Confined Spaces).

You will need:

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

100 points ID (e.g. Passport & drivers licence 0R Birth Certificate & drivers licence -check web for combinations OR check online for other options). One must be a photo ID.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for MSMWHS216 – Operate Breathing Apparatus, which is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
