Course Overview
This one-day face-to-face session combines three essential units of competency, namely PUAFER005, PUAFER006, and PUAFER008. Participants will gain comprehensive skills and knowledge crucial for effectively responding to facility emergencies, ensuring the safety of occupants, and mastering first attack firefighting techniques.
Unit PUAFER005 - Operate as Part of an Emergency Control Organisation: This unit focuses on equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to actively participate in an Emergency Control Organisation during a facility emergency. Topics covered include understanding emergency response procedures, identifying hazards, communicating effectively during emergencies, and making informed decisions to safeguard occupants.
Unit PUAFER006 - Lead an Emergency Control Organisation: Building upon the foundational skills from PUAFER005, this unit empowers participants to take on a leadership role within an Emergency Control Organisation during a facility emergency. The course delves into advanced decision-making, coordination of emergency response efforts, and effective communication strategies to ensure the orderly and safe evacuation of occupants.
Unit PUAFER008 - Confine Small Emergencies in a Facility: This unit focuses specifically on developing the skills and knowledge required to confine small emergencies within a facility. Participants will learn about first attack firefighting techniques, including the use of firefighting equipment, identifying and assessing the scope of small emergencies, and implementing appropriate response measures to prevent the escalation of incidents.
Combined Learning Experience: Through interactive simulations, practical exercises, and scenario-based training, participants will have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world emergency response situations. The course emphasises the importance of clear communication, efficient decision-making, and teamwork in managing various emergency scenarios.
