Course Overview
This course is ideal for individuals in operational roles in the construction, mining, and infrastructure sectors who need to operate rollers as part of their job responsibilities. It is also suitable for those looking to enhance their skills and safety knowledge in roller operations. This competency encompasses the essential procedures for preparing and planning roller operations, conducting pre-operational checks, operating the roller, carrying out maintenance, and cleaning up after operations.
This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload plant or equipment onto a truck, trailer or float. To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisting someone who has completed RIIHAN308F Load and unload plant or equivalent.
The course duration is typically 1-3 days, including both theoretical instruction and practical training and is dependant on the current experience and skill of the participant. Experienced and skilled operators will be ready for Assessment on Day one and Novice operators will need more time to develop their knowledge and skills and may Attempt assessment on the 2nd or 3rd day. Delivery formats may vary between intensive workshops, part-time schedules, or customised training programs to suit employer and participant needs.
